Ashington is a peaceful village situated in between Horsham and Storrington. It has a lovely village feel with a strong community atmosphere. The village has a variety of houses, with period houses, old farmhouses and newer family homes.
There is a local shop in the village, and also a pub and several restaurants. The Ashington Festival is held every year with local villagers and children making this a fantastic summer event. Ashington School caters for children up to the age of 11, and after this children can then attend Rydon Community College in nearby Storrington. The church in the village is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul and supports life in the village with events and activities.
The surrounding area has lovely countryside, including the South Downs, for those who enjoy walking and riding, and there are several good golf clubs nearby too.
Close by are the towns of Horsham and Storrington which have an excellent range of shops and amenties, including doctors and dentists surgeries. Both have a leisure centre, and Horsham also has the renovated Horsham Arts Centre.
Ashington is well served by the A24 which now bypasses the village, and gives good links to the coast and the national motorway network. Gatwick airport is easily accessible, and Horsham and Pulborough both have excellent rail links to London and beyond.
