Progress Party Cupcakes!
Last week was half term and I spent the first few days in Edinburgh visiting my daughter who is at University there. We love Edinburgh and try to visit as often as possible although this visit involved an afternoon at Ikea followed by flat pack assembly, something often guaranteed to cause tension and swearing. However on this occasion all went very smoothly and we created a lovely study for our daughter in true ‘changing rooms’ style.
We left Edinburgh and drove down to Morpeth as we have some family friends there. We then spent the night in Newcastle in an excellent Premier Inn that overlooked the Tyne and was in the middle of the bridges. Newcastle was a great place, full of life and being Valentines Day, couples enjoying a romantic night out. We ourselves enjoyed a romantic dinner for three as we had our fifteen year old daughter with us!
On Wednesday morning we went to visit a fellow Mayfair Office member in Newcastle, Sanderson Young. It is always interesting to meet up with colleagues and Sanderson Young have five offices around Newcastle. Interestingly they have created a coffee shop in one of their offices which has been very successful and is quite a novel idea for an estate agent.
Whilst we were away it was all systems go back at the offices. We are currently marketing a new development, The Amberley Collection, in Storrington on behalf of Martin Grant Homes. The development is progressing well and we decided to hold a ‘Progress Party’ on Saturday. The site was open for the day and it provided an opportunity for anyone interested in the development, whether they were potential purchasers or just local people who wanted to see the new properties, to have a coffee and a look around. Plot 1 is a very spacious bungalow with a good sized garden and this was the main centre for the coffee and cakes!! However it was also possible to look at the three bedroom semi-detached properties and to get a feel for the space and surroundings of Plots 5 and 6.
Marion Neden, our New Homes Consultant, had organised the day with military precision and as well as coffee, tea and champagne, we also offered guests sandwiches, warm sausage rolls and flapjacks. However the piece de resistance were some fabulous little cupcakes prepared by Michelle, our Social Media Manager. We had the Guy Leonard logo on half of the cupcakes and the Martin Grant Homes logo on the others! We were delighted with the number of visitors we had during the day and hope to have further reservations very soon.
All three of our offices were busy with viewings on Saturday, the stock market continues to rise and Greece seems to have its’ bail out in place so let us all hope that 2012 is a year of positivity.
