Manningsheath,West Sussex

Mannings Heath is another delightful West Sussex village situated on the A281, approximately two miles east from the market town of Horsham. Notable inhabitants include Lord Norman Tebbit (a Cabinet minister in the Thatcher administration). Mannings Heath is home to one of the best golf courses in the area and to the Dunn Horse Inn. The fine golf club at Mannings Heath is located in 500 acres of Sussex downland. Two different championship courses and a clubhouse that dates back to the 17th century make it the ultimate destination for golfers. The Dun Horse Inn on the Brighton Road is a lovely pub with two bars, beamed ceiling and a large sunny garden. Stained glass windows at the front of the pub advertise an old Brighton brewery. Mannings Heath enjoys the benefit of a local village store, church of The Good Shepherd and a garage with a convenience store and has a lively village community. Also situated in this beautiful West Sussex countryside is the Mannings Heath Hotel, which is set on the edge of a lake and is an ideal venue for weddings, conferences or romantic getaways.

The larger town of Horsham offers an extensive range of shopping and other amenities and has a main line station with services to the coast and Gatwick Airport and London Victoria/London Bridge together with access to the major road and motorway network via the A24.
